A sister cask of The Ultimate’s we have seen lately, let’s see. Bottled at 46% this should be very good.
Nose
Apart from obvious sherry tones such as dark chocolate and red Forrest fruit I can detect some Tia Maria Coffey Liquor, is this possible? I guess it is! It has some nice almonds. It’s like a fudge brownie in a glass!
Taste:
Some nice almond tones and chocolate and liquorice. We Dutch love our liquorice a big plus in this dram. A hint of pepper and yes….Oranges. Oranges and chocolate go extremely well together! It’s almost like an orange curd.
Finish:
A long and creamy finish with lot’s of espresso coffee tones and orange zest.
Balance and complexity.
Bottled merely at 46%, this is a wee monster in the glass that has a lot of likeable sherrybomb flavors. The complexity is in the dark espresso coffee and oranges. Well balanced dram that I can enjoy preferably with friends at a nice get together.
