Caberlot 2015 Il Carnasciale
€ 168,19 (in. BTW)
Made with the elusive Caberlot grape, the 2015 Il Caberlot (with only 3,100 Magnums produced) is a beautifully ripe, dense and rich expression from one of the most beautiful spots in Tuscany. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel and undergo malolactic fermentation in barrique, before a 22-month aging period in small French oak (of which 75% is new). The wine is impeccably balanced and concentrated with dark, plummy fruit, spice, tar and savory tobacco. Caberlot is a distant relative of Cabernet, and you can tell as much as you contemplate the bouquet and full-bodied appearance of the mouthfeel of this warm vintage Tuscan red.
Winespectator / James Suckling (95)
Effusive aromas and flavors of black currant, blackberry, violet, cedar, iron and tobacco mark this elegant, balanced red. The vibrant structure keeps this well-defined and pushes the long aftertaste.
