The 2000 Cote Rotie La Mouline includes 11% Viognier in the final blend. Its deep ruby color is accompanied by sweet aromas of lychee nuts, peaches, black currants, and cherries. Abundant amounts of sweet oak must still be resolved, so 3-4 years of cellaring is suggested. Although somewhat superficial, it is a perfumed, seductive, sensual 2000 to drink between 2007-2019.

Terrific combination of the best of both worlds in Côte-Rôtie--the ripe, powerful raspberry and blackberry fruit, coffee and cocoa notes, along with the alluring, sauvage game, mineral and spice flavors. Both camps work hand-in-hand here, and take turns in extending the amazingly long finish. Best from 2006 through 2030. 500 cases made. –JM
