The 2015 Vosne-Romanée Village, which apparently finished its malolactic quite late, has a clean, slightly conservative bouquet with tightly wound red cherry and crushed strawberry aromas, a subtle tinned peach note in the background. The palate is well balanced and boasts a commendable sense of energy. It feels a little angular at the moment, but there is density and weight on the finish married with satisfying tension.
Saturated flavors of violet, black currant and black cherry are the main themes here, along with flourishes of spice. Firm and balanced, finishing with a crisp, chalky feel.
