The 2015 Nuits St Georges 1er Cru les Perrières has a clean and precise bouquet, a touch of orange sorbet and licorice - aromatics that become floral as it opens in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a gentle grip on the entry, fine acidity but just feels a little "chunky" on the finish where I was seeking more finesse. Good substance though and it should find more grace with time.

A ripe and fresh nose displays notes of dark cherry liqueur, earth, spice and discreet earth nuances. There is good richness to the bigger and more powerful flavors that possess solid concentration if less refinement on the solidly persistent, well-balanced and complex finish. This is really quite good though unlike the Feusselottes, it will need at least a few years of cellar time to become more civilized.
