Here too there is a whiff of menthol character sitting atop the aromas of green tea, cool wild red berries and ample amounts of sauvage character. There is solid power suffusing the medium weight, focused and beautifully delineated middleweight flavors that exhibit good if not exceptional depth and length on the dusty and moderately austere finish. This is certainly compact but seem somewhat one-dimensional compared to the Bèze at this early juncture.
Bright and fresh crimson in colour. The bouquet is a little more direct than the Clos de Bèze but I suspect a little less fine. The structure is less balanced with the oak standing out and a little bitterness. Still good fruit, but not quite the magic. A little raw at the moment.
