Offers generous flavors of cherry and strawberry, showing moderate richness and herb and sandalwood accents. This is firm, with dusty tannins and a slightly chewy finish.
Here the well-layered nose displays a restrained and very pretty array of fresh, spicy and earthy red and black currant scents. The mouth feel is notably finer than that of the Clos de Vougeot as the tannins are more fine-grained plus there is good verve to the medium weight plus flavors that culminate in a firm, moderately austere and solidly long finish. This flirts with enough dryness to notice but not so much as to seriously detract from the overall sense of balance and note that like the Clos de Vougeot this is not a good candidate for early drinking.
