The 2009 Musigny is a very unusual wine at this address. Over the last few years Mugnier has decided to allow the wines to express the fullest extent of the vintage, and that is certainly the case here. This is a huge Musigny, with tons of inner perfume and ripe, concentrated fruit. The 2009 is dazzling, but it is going to require quite a bit of time. The sheer depth of the fruit here is remarkable. This is a superb effort, although long-time Mugnier fans may want to taste the wine before making any major decisions.
