Back this year after being blended with the Village in 2012, the 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Evocelles has a very complex nose with sultry black fruit intermingled with ash and damp moss aromas. The palate is very pure on the entry with a touch of bitter lemon infusing the bright black cherries and bilberry notes. There is very fine structure towards the tensile and linear finish that lingers nicely in the mouth. Welcome back!

Deep crimson. Very deep and stony on the nose. Very rich and ripe on the palate but with great race. Mulberries, neat finish.?Tres kirsche, says Denis.
