The 1999 is the finest Rauzan-Gassies I have tasted. Cassis liqueur intermixed with earth, asphalt, prunes, black tea, and spice box aromas jump from the glass of this dark ruby/purple-colored effort. The acidity is low, the concentration level impressive, and the wine beautifully textured with all of its elements nicely integrated.
