The 2012 Planots was intensely oaky, with notes of smoke, dark chocolate and espresso coffee, with dark fruit and also something earthy, reminiscent of graphite and black slate. This old vine cuvée has a powerful and heady palate, with lots of oak-related notes and some bumpy tannins. It ends dry. With powerful food and/or more time in bottle?
