Podere Forte's 2015 Orcia Petruccino opens to dark color saturation. The wine is thick and savory at its core with black cherry and cassis surrounded by exotic spice, black olive, toasted almond and balsam or medicinal herb. The blend is 85% Sangiovese and 15% Merlot, aged in barriques and tonneaux for 14 months. Farming is organic and biodynamic. The mouthfeel is smooth but firmly structured.
