The organic Fontodi 2020 Pinot Nero Case Via shows a surprisingly dark color with thick concentration. It does not look like Pinot Nero, nor does it smell like the Burgundian grape. This original, out-of-the-box expression from sunny central Italy is redolent of black cherry, candied orange peel and some balsam or medicinal herb with a hint of cherry cough drop. This was a very warm vintage, and this Tuscan wine won't let you forget it.

The 2020 Pinot Nero Case Via is impressive. Rich and layered, with tons of Panzano textural intensity, the 2020 delivers the goods. Dark red/purplish fruit, rose petal and sweet spice are all amplified, with a touch of savoriness from the 20% whole clusters that adds dimension.
