The 2010 Puligny-Montrachet Les Perrieres literally explodes in the glass with vivid, vibrant fruit, expressive aromatics and pure minerality. Hints of smoke, slate and crushed rocks lead to layers of fruit that take on increasingly exotic tones as the wine sits in the glass. The Perrieres is wonderfully alive from start to finish, constantly changing in the way only great Burgundy can. Although showing beautifully today, I can only imagine where this might go over the next few years, and, hopefully, beyond.
