The 2019 Chardonnay Beaumont comes from gray marl soils in Château Chalon in Beaumont. This 2019 aged in 300-liter barrels for three years and was bottled after the 2022 harvest. It feels a little oxidative, with notes of honey and cereals, almonds and aromatic herbs, with a medium-bodied palate and a chalky texture and a dry, clean and long finish. 2019 was a good year overall, but they also had frost and yields were low, 20 to 25 hectoliters per hectare, which is half of the production they got in 2018. The wine has freshness, and it's not too high in alcohol (12.5%). It comes from a small plot that delivered some 1,000 bottles.
