The 2020 Lune d'Or is one of the finest vintages of this Sémillon-dominant bottling that Bernard and his team have produced to date. Unwinding in the glass with notions of crisp orchard fruit, nectarine, pastry cream and a deft touch of youthful reduction, it's medium-bodied, lively and nicely concentrated, with a tightly wound core, racy acids and a saline finish. The missing ingredient, as is almost always the case when Sémillon is concerned, is time, which will see this wine develop considerably more texture and dimension, but its starting point is already impressive.
Plenty of pineapple and white peaches. Ashes and salt. Full-bodied, very bright and layered with pretty phenolics and length. Very pretty. Mostly semillon.
