The 2019 Wiltinger Braune Kupp Spätlese AP #5 is one of two Spätlese selections that were made in the Kupp last year. This "regular" Spätlese is clear and fine on the delicate and flinty nose that indicates perfectly ripe and healthy Riesling and Kupp aromas along with beautifully refined herbal notes. On the palate, this is a tremendously juicy, refined and salty Spätlese with vivacious yet ripe acidity and nervy mineral tension that leads to a long, complex, very sustainable finish. This is probably the finest Spätlese from the Kupp I have tasted from Egon Müller (along with the other Spätlese, which will be auctioned).
