From the Bassgeige, Keller's 2022 Steinriese Oberbergen Spätburgunder GG starts with deep, fresh, earthy and spicy notes on the nose, revealing fine minerality and elegant fruit. Silky and also elegant on the palate, this is a dense, substantial but balanced Pinot with plenty of substance and power. This Bassgeige-Steinriese is very complex and salty on the uplifting and stimulating finish.

This is quite closed on the nose, but the red berry and sour cherry fruit on the silky, medium-bodied palate is already a delight. This is underlined by a firm but well-judged tannin structure that drives the long, cool finish.
