Whole-bunch pressed and vinified in 500-liter oak barrels for 18 months, the 2017 Ried Hochsteinriegl Sauvignon Blanc is very deep and fine on the bright and elegant, complex and coolish nose, with its ripe and generous fruit and sur lie aromas. On the palate, this is a tightly woven, well-concentrated, lush and refined Sauvignon with a long and linear performance, stimulating salinity and very fine tannins. An impressive, expressive terroir wine with bright and coolish fruit aromas. A great wine from quartzite red-slate soils.
