The 2005 Burdese is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc aged 14 months in French oak. It is the least generous of these offerings. Notes of dark fruit, mint, sweet herbs and chocolate emerge from this powerful wine but there isn’t quite enough fruit to stand up to its structural components.

Mint, blackberry and hints of currant on the nose and palate. Medium-bodied, with cut-wood character and a medium finish. Shows lots of new barrels, but should come around with bottle age. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Best after 2010.
