Nose: dirty peat and some plastic, engine oil, and new bicycle tires in addition to black tea leaves, bbq marinade, sherry wine, tannins, sticky caramel, and fudge, some berries and sweet syrupy touches, hints of fresh oil paint.
Palate: lovely mouthfeel on this one, quite oily and viscous: peat, dirty feel to it then soot (lots of it), the PX is quite noticeable as well with a lovely sweet layer, in addition to chocolate-covered dates and prunes, there’s sweet BBQ meat in the marinade (reminiscent of the nose) , with more ash, and fried fruit jam, oak, and wood spices. very rich and comforting, and still very Ledaig.
Finish: bittersweet, with a peppery touch, tea leaves sweet smoke mixed with the dried fruit. Silan (date honey) and some salty edge too. Very long with the ash and smoke going a long way, as well as the tannins.
Conclusion: A very yummy, and sweet-ish, peaty popsicle from Tobermory. Very very more-ish. So damn tasty.
