Papalin is a project set up by Luca Gargano, a brand which focuses on rum blends. In October 2013, Velier launched the first edition of Papalin, which is by now a highly sought after collector's item. The brand has been revived with these two new releases!
The two Jamaican rums are vatted rums (a blend of different pot still rums), and are 100% tropically matured in Jamaica.
This very limited rum has been reduced to an alcohol content of 57.18%, as a tribute to the historic alcohol strength of rum blends made for The Royal British Navy. The alcohol percentage of 57.18% is also known as 'Proof': this is the percentage at which gunpowder will still ignite when it is mixed with the drink.
• Nose: Lively, yet refined. Notes of vanilla, candied citrus fruits, nutmeg, coffee and chamomile.
• Taste: Rich and powerful. Sugar cane, salted caramel, pear and geraniums.
• Finish: Long and rich. Dandelion, lemon, vanilla, menthol, mineral and cocoa powder.
