Offering a clear, deep, complex bouquet, the 2012 Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Brut Nature Vénus is sourced from the La Fosse aux Pourceaux plot that is located just behind the domaine and has been farmed by horse for more than 20 years. It fermented and aged in used demi-muids until April before the unfiltered wine underwent the second fermentation in bottle under natural corks. The 2012 offers a pretty Burgundian and vinous nose with ripe fruit aromas intermixed with almost flinty/reductive mineral expressions. Round, very pure and salty on the palate, this is another highly finessed and elegant cuvée from Pascal Agrapart. The wine is intense, complex and almost rich on the palate, where the finish is so incredibly pristine, fresh and delicate, very detailed and provided with an enormously long and salty finish. No dosage. A great wine. Disgorged in March 2018 as Brut Nature. Tasted soon after in April 2018.
