The 2016 Vintage Port is a field blend of old vines (50%) and Touriga Nacional (50%), coming in with 93 grams of residual sugar. The best of the Sogevinus Vintage Ports this issue—although it's close and reasonable minds might differ—this has beautiful color (well, most Vintage Ports do), plus enough structure and concentration to seem serious. It (happily) shows a little tightness on the finish. That said, it is not overly astringent and will still be drinkable on the early side. It is a very graceful and somewhat understated Vintage Port with a fresh feel. This was only in bottle about two weeks when seen. It has some room to grow and looks promising.
