Gal Granov (89)

Nose: baked apples, dried fruit and nice Sherried influence on the nose, there are also some soft spices, some balsamic, and icing sugar on top of the sweet apples. Sweet and savory at times.. With the sweet vanilla grain notes in the backdrop
Palate: a big of spice on the entry with the sweet vanilla and Sherried sweetness working well together, sultana, Demerara sugar and sweet wine on top of red fruit, and spice. Quite easy on the palate, and dangerously drinkable, touch of fresh ground pepper adds a nice twist.
Finish : sherry, wins tannins, spices and hints of dried fruit.
In short:
This is a yummy whisky, and it does not disappoint as most CB whiskies. It’s one of the better blended whiskies I’ve tried in recent years, and the sherry touches are really well integrated. An easy drinking whisky, you’ll find yourself reaching for another dram, and then another…
Pricing is not cheap, at about 100 quid , but then again, this is well crafted. At any rate the Delilah’s Bar is on my top ten list of bars to visit, I hear it’s amazing

Whisky Notes (87)

Nose: lots of toffee notes, butterscotch, milk chocolate mousse and a little vanilla. The American oak sherry is obvious. Baking spices too (clove, nutmeg). Baked apples. Hints of grassy malt. It’s quite rich, alternating between sweet and savoury, but also a tad bloated. Mouth: spice galore now. Clove and nutmeg again, some cardamom and black pepper. Fresh oak. Then malt cookies, hints of chocolate and red berries. Some hazelnut cream and brown sugar in the end. Finish: quite long, with a woody feel, alongside chocolate and dried fruits from the sherry.

Quite good and reasonably complex, with lots of spices and creamy richness. Maybe a tad high on the caramel notes for me personally.
